If
you don't like dive only, you may travel from Phuket to Phang Nga Bay
to explore there big mountains by sea canoe. On the
inside of this mountains are areas called Hongs. The mountains are up
to 500 m high and are the rest of a 80 million years old mountain -
ridge.
Within million of years the inside of this mountains was washed out through rain, erosion and sea-water. Today is a part of this mountains hollow on the inside, like a hollow tooth. It isn't to see from the outside, so that leaders of canoe trips tells often,the hollow inside of this giants - the hongs - was discovered by allied planes in World War II at first. This story isn't true I mean, I think the aborioginies, expecially the fishermen, had know it in a longer time.
The
hongs you can reach through caves by using the canoe.Few of this
caves are so great, that you can walk through it to the hongs. On
this way you can observe hunderts of little bats.
The greater part of the caves are so little, thus you had to use a canoe during low tide to come in. (picture 3, see below).
Inside, in the hong, you will see a new worl. There is a lagoon inside, marshland and mud springer. By the way, on this expedition it may be you will be dirty after such an expedition, but this adventure and this beautiful unknown world are worthy to look like a mucky pup at the end of the trip.
Nature ptotection is capitalized in hongs , smoking in forbidden, so that nature does not suffer damage by thrown away cigarette dumps.
To
be posted the routes can starting from Phuket, in the morning at 7.30
a.m. are collection at the hotel, return in the evening against 8.00
p.m. .
